Narrenbrunnen

The sculpture "Narrenbrunnen" (Fools' Fountain) was created by artist Herbert Maier in 1976. It depicts the main characters of the local carnival tradition, including the Ranzengardist, a costumed guard dressed in a barrel, symbolizing the protection and tradition of the carnival. The Ranzengardist participates in the festivities by maintaining order while adding a touch of folklore and entertainment. The Hemdglonker, dressed in a white nightshirt, takes part in the nighttime carnival festivities, often parading through the streets with lanterns or torches, adding a touch of mystery and tradition. Finally, the Haselnarro, depicted with a colorful costume and mask, carrying hazel branches ("Hasel" in German), brings a touch of folklore and tradition to the event. He symbolizes nature and fertility, adding a festive and joyful dimension to the celebrations.
